Tom Cheung (President)

Master Tom Cheung loved martial arts, Chinese painting and Chinese music during the youth years. He took Tai Chi Chuan class from a Physical Education Professor for two years when he was working on his Bachelor degree at Taiwan National Normal University. After graduation, he went back to Hong Kong to teach students and at the same time, he learnt Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, Sword, Sabre, long and short rods, Kwan Dao and Tung Ying Chieh Fast (董英傑快拳) from Master Ng Geoi Yin (吳舉賢) for several years. Master Ng studied Tai Chi and Wushu with Master Tung Ying Chieh. He became one of the prominent members in the Tai Chi community which was organized by Jewelry and Gold Trading Association in Hong Kong.

Master Cheung started teaching Tai Chi Chuan at Saint Frances Xavier University and, at the same time, learnt Chan Style, Ng style and other types of Wushu from several Tai Chi Shifu’s in 70’s and 80’s. He also practiced Judo and Taekwondo at the University of Western Ontario. He found Sarnia Tai Chi Association in 1982 and Fook Moon Tai Chi Association in Toronto in 1992. He coordinated with several Tai Chi enthusiasts to develop rules of judging Taiji Tuolu for the National Tai Chi Federation in early 80’s. He is currently the official Taiji Tuolu Judge for Wushu Canada and Biannual Taiji Championship organized by OTTQA. Master Cheung is now teaching Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, Sword, Sabre, Tung Ying Chieh fast set and Hunyuan Taiji in several locations organized by Fook Moon Tai Chi Association.




Andrew Yu (vice president)

Andrew  started learning the Old Form 108 from 1985 and he joined Fook Moon Tai Chi Association in 1989. At Fook Moon, he learn the Yang's 88 from Cheung Sefu. He also continues practicing Push Hand technique with opponents from different levels.  For the last two years, Andrew is learning Yi Chuan and Zhao Bao Tai Chi.





Allen Ng

Allen started learning Yang Tai Ji Quan from 2005. In 2006 he joined Fook Moon and learnt Yang Tai Ji Quan, Sword and Sabre from Master Tom Cheung. Since 2009, he has been learning Chen Tai Ji Quan and weapons under Master Liang Bao Sen. He also learnt Tai Ji Quan and Push Hand duilan from Master Cecilia Fung.

Awards won from competitions include:
  1. 2011 Action Martial Arts Challenge-2 bronze medals
  2. 2012 Canadian Chinese Kuo Shu Federation-1 silver medal
Allen is teaching Tai Ji Sword in Friday Class.



Henry Chan

Henry learned Yang’s Taichi 89 form in Hong Kong from 1995 to 1997. From 2009 , He continued his Taichi practice in Fook Moon Tai-Chi Association. He also learned Kung Fu Fan(功夫扇) & ZhongHua Xiang Shan (中華响扇).
Henry is also an instructor of the Canadian Chinese Health Qigong Organization. He is certified with technical skill level "Three Duan".(三段) in 2014, He is teaching health Qigong in some senior clubs & community centre.
In the year of 2013, August17-24, Henry participated the 5th International Health Qigong Tournament & Exchange. He also participated  the competition, result as follow:
Yi Jin Jing (易筋經)– Silver metal (individual)
Liu Xi jue (六字訣)– Silver metal (individual)
Liu Xi Jue (六字訣) – Silver metal ( Group  category )

Cecilia Fung

Cecilia is a Tai Chi Master with very extensive Tai Chi training and earned numerous Awards in different Tai Chi Competitions.

Cecilia's Tai Chi Training history:
  1. Joined Fook Moon from July 2000 , with Master Tom Cheung 張相棠師父 she practiced Traditional Yang Tai Chi Quan, Sword and Sabre
  2. 2002-2003, with 鄭麒膺師父 she practiced  Yang Style Tai Chi Quan, Application Techniques, Tai Chi Theory and Principles
  3. 2004-2008, with 梁寶森師父 she practiced Traditional Chen Style Tai Chi Quan (First Form & Second Form), Sword, Saber and Push Hand
  4. 2011-present, with Master Frank Ding 丁建平老師 she practiced Chen Style Tai Chi Sword and Push Hand

Flora Chan

Flora's first encounter with Tai Chi went way back in 2002 when she attended the church activities and learned the Simplified Tai Chi Chuan & 32 styles Tai Chi Jian.She was inspired by this martial art and a year later, knowing that Fook Moon provides Tai Chi classes for different levels, she joined the club. With the guidance from Instructors George Yeung, Andrew Yu, Cecilia Fung & Lily Wong, she learned different Tai Chi forms, Sword, Saber & Tai Chi Fan. In 2006, she became an instructor in Fook Moon Tai-Chi Chuan Club.

Since 2007, she began to specialize in various Tai Chi forms under the instruction of Bao-Sen Liang (梁寶森老師). These include Traditional Yang Style, Chen Style & Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan, Chen Style & Yang Style Sword, Chen Style Saber, Push Hands & Internal Power training. 


In 2011, Flora was fortunate to be admitted as the student of the Yang Style fifth generation 掌門人(楊少候一脈) Khin Bu (曹慶武老師). 

In 2009 & 2011’s Canadian Open Taiji Championships, she attained 1 silver & 2 bronze medals in the 42 styles Sword, Chen Style Sword & Yang Style Group Competition Tai Chi Chuan respectively. 


Lily Wong

Lily joined the Fook Moon Tai Chi Club in 2001, she learned both the Traditional Yang and Chen Tai Ji Quan, Sword, Saber, Fan and Push Hand from Master Manny Lau, Cecilia Fung and Flora Chan. In 2006, Lily transitioned into the role of Tai Chi Instructor within the Club.

Lily is also a Tai Chi instructor at the MLI Fitness Center and participates in the United Way Tai Chi event. She attained a Silver medal in the 2009 Canadian Open Taiji Championships Traditional Yang Style Broad Sword and Bronze medal in Yang Style Group Taiji Quan.


Grant Chau

Grant's training goes to the 80's at the Wu's Tai Ji Chuan Academy, where he spent more than 10 years of Tai Ji practise. 

He is the student of Sam Chung who is the disciple of Mr. Wong Im. Wong Im is the disciple of the Wu's family Wu Goon Yee. Mr. Wong was the instructor at the same period.He also studied 4 years of Chinese Wrestling and is a Gold Medal Champion.

Grant is a certified Martial Art Instructor. He teaches part-time in Extreme Fitness, Church, Home, Private Club and Fook Moon. Presently, he is exploring the Old Traditional Yong Tai Ji and Applications. Looks like Tai Ji Chuan is a life long study for Chau Sefu.

Teresa 本是 孫家 太極拳弟子. 曾在佛光山多倫多分社任教孫家太極拳. 

後跟隨 聶師父 於福門學習 48式 太極拳及推手十多年....

期間亦曾跟隨 馮志強弟子 李來仁師父 學習陳式太極拳 老架一路及陳式 心意太極拳 24式 

現跟隨 Walter Wong 學習楊家 太極拳及推手 ...

Sammy Ting

Master Sammy Ting is teaching 董英傑傳統老架 (88式) on the Saturday Class at Langstaff CC. Sammy's  Tai Chi training took place in the 60's at Tung Ying Chieh (董英傑)Tai Chi school in Hong Kong. Tung Ying Chieh was a student of Yang Cheng Fu(楊澄甫) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang_Chengfu) who popularized the Yang's style Tai Chi. 

Sammy's teacher, Mrs Chu was a student of Tung Ying Chieh.  He also practiced with Tung Kai Ying (董繼英) who is Tung Ying Chieh's grandson.  Tung Kai Ying is now 71 years old and he runs a Tai Chi school in LA since 1971

Manny Lau

Manny teaching 七星螳螂拳的十八叟, 南拳初階及八卦掌初階 alternatively in Fook Moon's Saturday Session. Manny trained himself in most of his Kung Fu Taolu. 

Manny has been learning Kung Fu since he was 8 years old.  He learned his Hung Gar from the late Master Law Wai (羅渭). In his 20's, he learned Choi Lee Fut from the late Pak Xing Tsang Chiu Yu (曾昭宇), and his Wing Tsun and Preying Mantis from Master Yim Kwok Hung (嚴國雄, disciples of Wing Tsun Kwok Wan Ping 廣州詠春郭運平, Preying Mantis Grand Master Wong Hon Fun 螳螂黃 漢勛). Manny obtained his Preying Mantis teaching qualification from Philipman Chow (周至鋒, also a disciple of the late Grand Master Wong Hon Fun) in Toronto. 

With regard to his Tai Chi lineage, Manny remembered that he knelt down in front of the picture of the late Cheung San Fung, took a wow to Taichi Kung Fu practice, lead by his Tai Chi master Chan Sai Chuen (陳世泉)and then he was told he is the 14th generation from Cheung San Fung. He can learn any Taichi form as he wishes. He was taught the 18-form of Tai Chi Nei Kung 第一式烏龍擺尾 and 太極刀. He also learned his Yang Style Tai Chi from Chan Tat Chi (陳達志,a senior disciple of the late Leung King Yu 梁勁予 ). He further learned the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan from Li Zhi (李治), and Wu style from Li Sing Tung (李勝東) both in Toronto. 

He learned Baquazhang from Master Wu Sin-Sum (胡善深  )in Hong Kong, and is a disciple of Master Chiu Wan Tung (趙溫東)in Toronto.


Oliver Yip

Judo was Oliver's primer of physical activity. He veered his interest to Chinese martial art starting with Ng Style Tai-chi by following Instructor Wu Shing ( 胡勝 ) who was the lineage disciple of Master Cheng Wing-kwong ( 鄭榮光 ). Years later, Oliver practised Yang Style Tai-chi and push hands from his friend who followed Master Leung King-yu ( 梁勁予 ).

Oliver Yip is teaching Yang Style 楊式傳統太極 in Fook Moon Tai-chi Asso. on Friday.

Tat Leung (Line Dance Leader)

In 2010, Tat joined Fook Moon Tai Chi Association and learnt Yang's Tai Chi Quan Form 24 from Master Ho, Furthermore, Tat learned Yang's Tai Chi Quan Form 88 and Dong Family Fast Set from Master Cheung, up to present were follow Master Allan Ng practice Dong Family Fast Set and Yang Style Tai Chi Sword Form 67.

Tat Leung enjoyed music and dancing since 1960's.  He trained himself for most of his dancing skills in the early years.  After immigrated to Canada, Tat picked up dancing again and joined the line dancing group of Nelson Wong . Tat is leading Line Dance Group from 7:30pm-8:30pm before the Friday Class.

王氏水性太极拳导师简介                                                                                                            鄧應標

余自幼喜爱运动。小学的时候随体育老师学习各种体操及单杠和双杠,闲时与邻居朋友在附近的球场玩足球和篮球。至中学和大学以后,开始喜欢打羽毛球,网球和长跑。在英国曼彻斯特大学修读研究生课时,更练习和参加马拉松长跑赛。后来因为脚跟发疼后,便尝试寻找学习一种比较柔和,而且能强身健体及御敌的运动。在因缘巧合的情况下,遇到一位与杨守中亦师亦友杨家太极拳八十多岁的李德老师傅,成为我学习太极拳的启蒙老师。并且有机会认识杨守中老师的几位大弟子。可惜,跟李德老师学习了一年后,他因为身体衰老进了老人宿舍,终断了我和杨家太极拳的缘分。
在友人引荐下,认识了杨家老架太极拳的谢皓敬老师。他是江苏溧阳人,跟一位三朝元老以及在清朝末年教授皇室子弟的老师傅学习太极拳多年。这位老师傅在文革时被清算至死。谢老师也因此去了台湾工作,也学会了一套由国防部石觉将军与众资深太极拳专业拳师根据杨家的套路所编纂的另外一套太极拳。这套拳与一般太极拳的分别是打八个方位,使玩拳的人觉得更有趣味。此外,谢老师也学过华山派的筑基功法,强调身法柔劲。我辛运地有机会跟谢老师在我移民加拿大的前后,断断续续的学了多年,直到他患了肾衰竭病去世为止。
就在谢老师去逝那年,我有缘在一九九九年遇到王壮宏老师,从此开始学习他自创的《王氏太极拳》。每星期除了到香港花园和九龙公园学拳外,更到他家里学习太极拳拳谱理论与易经,老子,金刚经和佛学的关系。王老师为著名书法家,武术家,金石书画碑刻鉴定家。在武术方面,老师天资聪敏,毅力过人,精通醉八仙,形意拳,各式太极拳。透过多年的钻研,把八卦掌,形意拳和太极拳融合起来,再加上王宗岳的太极拳谱的理论,开创《王氏太极拳》。老师要求每次练拳,一定要打七遍。 而且还要熟识拳谱,不断的练习,浸淫与反思。才有机会悟出什么是水性太极拳,最后要把套路和拳谱都去掉才能有所收获。 老师说他这套拳是智慧拳,聪明拳。一定要把拳架熟练到松控圆满,并能与太极拳和阴阳理论挂钩,不急不缓,自然而然地勤练,将来有机会达到不可思议的境界。自从跟随王老师学拳以来,一直练习和钻研,从来没有间断。并且体会到这套拳原来有更高的层次,同时也发觉不断地有所进步,好像没有底一样。记得王老师曾告诫我,一定要先学然后要教,从过程中不断地揣摸,才能有进步和收获。
我移民加拿大以后,曾在密西沙加的中文学校教台湾式的太极拳七年。学会了王氏太极拳以后,觉得这套拳比台湾的太极拳强,无论拳架和理论上都比较强和充实,也从学习中体会到太极拳实际上也是一套动气功。这次有机会再教太极拳,我希望把谢老师的筑基功揉合王氏太极拳架与同学们分享,使他们能够比较容易入门,不单缩短他们学习王氏太极拳的时间,同时也能体会这套太极拳的功效。
